"The first Red Sonja (Red Sonya of Rogatine) is a recreation of her original design and imagining in Robert Howard's book Shadow of the Vulture. Red Sonja in the middle is shown in her first appearance in Conan #23 by Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor Smith. The last Red Sonja is how she is portrayed during this period and even often today.

Marvel Treasury Edition: Conan the Barbarian #19 (1978)
Artwork by Frank Thorne"
