This is rumor control, as the guy says in Alien 3. (Posted to
alt.games.whitewolf, WW Trinity forum, and TrinityRPG mailing list.)

JUST THE FACTS

Coming from Arthaus:

July, 2001
TERRA VERDE (the Norca/Sudamerica sourcebook)
written by Deirdre M. Brooks, Zach Bush, and Alejandro Melchor
128 pages

December, 2001
ASIA ASCENDANT (the Ministry/Asia sourcebook)
written by James Maliszewski and John R. Snead
128 pages

THE REST OF THE STORY

I've been contributing to Trinity almost from its inception - I kibbitzed
on the core rulebook, and co-wrote the Darkness Revealed Trilogy, America
Offline, and Shattered Europe, with shorter passages in Hidden Agendas and
Luna Rising. I co-developed Aurora Australis with Andrew Bates.

Andrew is off living the giddy life of a freelancer himself these days, and
his schedule does not allow for further Trinity developing. Mine does, and
I expressed a willingness to do it, so here I am. Those of you who know the
line will recognize the names of some folks who've written for the game
before, along with folks new to Trinity writing.

Ever since Aurora Australis came out and sold like gangbusters, folks have
been asking when there'd be more news. Yes, it really has been almost a
year - I am probably at least as acutely aware as any of you about what a
long wait it's been. A handful of people got really nasty and abusive about
it. Most of you have been _great_, and it's been a serious pain to have to
tell you "there's no news yet."

There's a lot to negotiate when a line moves imprints and developers.
Another time I'll tally up what I can talk about publicly, and do so. I can
tell you right now that 2000 was an appallingly bad year for a lot of us,
and that much of the delay came from real tragedies like life-threatening
illnesses, family losses, and sudden business failures.

However. Here we are. The Terra Verde crew has their outline, and the Asia
Ascendant crew will soon, and the paperwork is in order. I've been holding
off saying anything at all until sure that the business side of things was
taken care of. It is, and so at very long last, here we are.

A PREVIEW OF COMING ATTRACTIONS

These are going to be dense books. I also hope they'll be accessible to
people who got the Trinity core rulebook (particularly in its amazingly
wonderful $15 softcover manifestation) and maybe don't have a lot of other
supplements.

Long-time Trinity fans will want to know that it's time to explain Process
418. And some of the secrets of Nihonjin success. And just how far Norcan
infiltration into allegedly secure parts of the Trinity universe runs. And
what all is in those environmental preserves. And what the heck is up with
Bue these days.

People who aren't necessarily steeped in Trinity lore will be interested in
a detailed treatment of biotechnology and its uses in combination with the
psi aptitudes. This is going to be mind-boggling work. Likewise, the
expanded coverage of Telepathy should open up some whole new frontiers for
your game.

The order/region books set on Earth so far have covered broken, blighted
lands. Now we show you success. The future is there in Sudamerica and Asia,
and it _works_. We aim to show you the drama and conflicts that surround
people whose minds and bodies flourish, who need not live in fear of
themselves, each other, or the world, who are pushing the boundaries of
humanity in search of new insights and experiences. The 22nd century can be
a very strange and wonderful place.

The great struggles of the time remain, of course. The Coalition hasn't
gone away. The Aberrant problem is about to enter an unexpected new phase.
People have not, in 2122, become free of pride and prejudice. The theme of
unity hasn't magically become something easy to obtain now. It's
increasingly necessary as the dimensions of the adversaries facing humanity
become clear.

It's going to be a fun ride, and we are very much looking forward to
sharing it with you.

Är namnet "Nihonjin" ett sammanträffande eller har det med japaner att göra?

(har inte trinity, men nyfiken /images/icons/smile.gif)
