I know there are a couple of board wargamers on here. This is not a total list of everything played, just a list of what I happened to remember to take a photo of (and only counting physical games, not Vassal screen shots). I don't usually take pictures. Please share your own as well :)

Loos the big push. Decision Games. Cheap little game, not bad at all and it played fine, but suffered a bit from using their generic 20th century rules, so the ww1 section had a ton of rules changes.

Panzergrenadier. Not sure what edition my box set is, it's one of the older ones with the mounted board. Rather good tactical game.

The Lamps are going out. Second favourite WW1 grand strategy and probably my favourite wargame over all. Always a fantastic experience.

World War One Deluxe (Decision games). Updated version of an old SPI game. Very charming but kind of lands in a weird spot between simplicity and tryint to add too much detail at the same time.

Der Weltkrieg. Basically the premier "grand tactical" WW1 rules. Extremely playable too but with some record keeping. This is the Galicia scenario.

Screenshot 2025-09-25 at 13.03.32.png

Eagle Day. Map only. Cute little game about the Battle of Britain. A little fiddly with the small counters but very accessible and a fun play through.

Imperial Tide. WW1 grand strategy (you might spot a theme here). Fantastic card driven game and gets an epic sweep in about 2 hours.

Screenshot 2025-09-25 at 13.05.02.png

Map only. If you play wargames, you know Twilight Struggle. Candidate for one of the most played games in our house.

Screenshot 2025-09-25 at 13.06.13.png
Ypres 1914 Death of an army. The photo really doesn't show how pleasing this map is to look at. Fantastic tactical game and my buddy who is normally not at all into tactical games got really into this one.

The venerable Guns of August. This game is not all that complicated, but the deep stacks and fiddly combat makes it a chore to play.

Magazine version of When Eagles Fight. WW1 east front. Very good and fun game, easy to play. The victory conditions are broken though so just play this one for the experience.

Warsaw 1920 from, I think Revolution Games.Absolutely stellar game, easy to play, interesting decision making and over in a couple of hours.

Screenshot 2025-09-25 at 13.10.20.png

Next War Poland. One we need to get to the table again. Definitely gets complex when you play with all the chrome.

Screenshot 2025-09-25 at 13.11.19.png

Well, its not ALL trenches and artillery. Its just MOSTLY trenches and artillery. We play War of the Ring once a year.

Screenshot 2025-09-25 at 13.11.56.png

Great War in Europe. All three maps. Played the full campaign to completion twice.

Screenshot 2025-09-25 at 13.12.34.png

Western Front Ace. Solo dice chucking game. A lot of chrome and fun but not a lot of decision making.

Screenshot 2025-09-25 at 13.13.57.png

Good old Advanced Squad Leader. This is from Starter Kit 1.

Screenshot 2025-09-25 at 13.15.08.png

The old War and Peace from Avalon Hill. Not really all that great and Austerlitz scenarios always suck.

Screenshot 2025-09-25 at 13.15.46.png

Regular Squad Leader.

Okay, that was more photos than I thought but there were a few I definitely thought I had pictures of and did not. Anyways, if you are a hex nerd, share your photos :)

Also if someone has questions about any of these, ask away. Happy to help.

Inga spel från The Gamers? Inga blockspel?

Glad you liked War and Peace! I do mean to try the Russia scenario to see if that runs better. Austerlitz is hard to really have fun with, since scenarios always make the time limit very tight.

Does Command&Colors count as a block wargame or does it have to be one with hidden info? We do play C&C Napoleonics a fair bit. Otherwise I just haven't happened to buy one, didn't intentionally avoid them :)
I don't think I own anything from The Gamers. Most of my stuff is Compass honestly with other scattered stuff (GMT etc.)
True story: The Gamers were from Homer, IL. The former major of that town is a friend of our family.

In my memory at least, the Russia scenario was great. The Peninsula too. But, I mean, I played in 90-91, so I may be romatizicing stuff.

Hammer of the Scots, de spelen.

Nice collection. Maybe we will be able to sit down and have a game some day :)
Tack!

I lived a decade in Portland, Oregon, it rained 400 days a year and the rest its overcast :) Though my wife is very insistent we need to live a place with some snow.

Jag gillar krigsspel. Men nästan bara efterkrigstid.

Compass games - Blue Water Navy
GDW/Clash of Arms - Air Superiority/Strike/The Speed of Heat
GDW - Harpoon
GDW/Compass games - Third World War Serien
GMT - Downtown/Elusive Victory/Red Storm
GMT - Next War Serien
TRL - 1985 Serien
TRL - C3 Serien
Victory Games/Vuca - Aegean/Gulf/Red Strike
Victory Games - Fleetserien

Harpoon . Ännu ett barndomsminne!

You know bro isn't fucking around when Harpoon comes out.
We really liked Next War Poland but it is definitely a gnarly game with a lot of detail.

Haha.

Awesome! Love the custom counters.

I keep meaning to get into American civil war and id probably rather do it on boards than with miniatures
