This may not be the crowd for historical wargames, but I wanted to mention it anyways:
I just released my skirmish black powder rules "Musket to Rifle".
It is skirmish warfare, think 2-4 units of 8-10 men each and is aimed at being a "true skirmish" game. Some rules have 8 figures try to form squares and fire in lines, this is intended to be reflecting actual skirmish tactics of the 19th century.
Points values, scenarios and some tools for solo and campaign play are included. Ideally suited for Napoleonics, American civil war, American revolution, First Slesvig war and Franco Prussian war skirmishing.
Basically buy a box of 1/72 scale plastics or a couple bags of 15mm Peter Pig minis and you are in business.
Do note this is an indie game, so its not chock full of glossy photos. On the other hand, the rules will be updated if people spot errors, find a scenario needs corrections etc. so you are not stuck with an incorrect book
You can grab a copy at
