Thst would be me.

Ahh, small world :)

Tomorrow is the first season game for Wolverhampton Wanderers. I followed a handful of their games last season while Gary was still the coach. Opening against Man City is not exactly what anyone hopes to do but here we go.
Its funny, literally the only reason I got interested in Wolves as a team is that when I was a kid and looking at the newspaper, I thought "Wolverhampton Wanderers" sounded like something out of Lord of the Rings or my Ensomme Ulv (Ensamma Varg) books. So when I got back into footie as an adult after years away, there was only one choice. At least nobody can accuse me of being a glory hunter :)

Wolfsburg has their first DFB Pokal match as well. Time to see if the team actually fits together "for real".

Hoping to tuck in and watch both before RPG night.

Ah! Premier League börjar äntligen!

Ska bli intressant att se hur alla turer kring Alexander Isak slutar. Han har gått från klubbikon till hatobjekt på bara några veckor.

I think when people cool down, his career will look pretty obviously like a successful one. Football fans get bent out of shape sometimes :)

You have any favourites in the Bundesliga or you don't follow that at all? (if you say Bayern, we can't be friends any longer  )

I dont really follow Bundesliga but I would like to. Lack of time. Många lag som jag gillar - Shalke, Union Berlin, St Pauli... Men inget lag jag följer. Spurs och Blåvitt räcker och blir över.

Yeah I hear you. Theres a couple of clubs where I check in and watch highlights but I dont end up watching every game. My kid is a big St Pauli fan, got a jacket and all. I tend to "follow" clubs because its more fun to follow a league if you have someone you are rooting for. For actual emotional investment its Wolfsburg and the Whitecaps.

I dont remember if I shared this before but this is my scarf collection:

Vancouver Rise (Canadian womens team), Vancouver Whitecaps, Columbus Crew, VfL Wolfsburg, Mainz 05 and two Toronto FC scarves I got from one of the original fan club members.

On the list to get are Wolves and Dortmund scarves as well.

I can really recomend the last episode of When We Were Kings were Niva shares his passion for the Ruhr clubs.

One of my dreams is to see a game in person either in Mainz or Dortmund.

First game of the Pokal. Wolfsburg 9-0. No shade, Hemelingen is a 5th tier semi pro side, their goal keeper literally works in a kindergarten. They played a pretty good first half but the skill gaps are just so large. Still, good to see the team having a "real" game to feel things out. Lovro Majer is back which is great to see.
I forgot they have a Swede as well, Mattias Svanberg of Landslag fame.

Wolves Man City 0-4.
Yeah, it was never gonna go all that well, Cunha probably needed to be sold but the offence feels VERY thin and Strand Larsen can only be in so many places at once.
But it was good to see them back in action. Hoping they can claw their way into the mid table.

Yes! I was there of course! En underbar dag! Rivaliteten mellan IFK och AIK är djup och sådana segrar smakar såklart alltid bäst! 💙🤍
I will have to watch the replay when it goes on the website tomorrow.

Tonight is Thomas Mullers debut (hopefully) for the Whitecaps. BC Place is apparently sold out. I don't think he is playing more than 15 minutes but the roof will blow off when/if he comes on.
And we are playing Houston, the asshole team of the Western Conference

Mixed bag for the Whitecaps. We dominated the second half but despite 4 or 5 great opportunities, we just could not finish it. 1-0 at the end and a lucky strike from Houston made it a tie.

Muller would have scored in his 5th touch in the game but the pass to him was slightly off side, so nothing there. Still, very promising. His ability to direct and to deliver pinpoint passes will be a huge asset.

And hey, Houston only got 5 yellow cards this time, so they must be on their best behaviour.

On the women's side, the Vancouver Rise played a player down most of the match and despite Toronto racking up 10 corner kicks, still managed to bring home a 1-0 win. Scrappy, desperate but ultimately it worked.

For the uninitiated (and I know Canadian womens football is high on the priorities of Swedish fotboll posters :D ) North American leagues have play offs at the end of the season. This win puts the Rise 3 points ahead of Calgary, which gives them a bit of a buffer. The top 4 teams move on to play offs. 9 weeks to go, meaning its still a scrap to ensure our spot.

I have great news! And terrible news! @Mogger

It turns out that jag kan titta på Allsvenskan matcher over here.
I ran into that Viaplay blocks VPNs and TV4s sports package is only available fi you have a Swedish bank card.
BUT one lag offers a service where you can pay 99 kronor / month to stream all of their matches.

The terrible news is that this means I must be a Malmö FF fan for now :)

So they basicly buys supporters... ;) Go figure, its the only team in Allsvenskan with money in the bank ;)

There are worse teams though. GAIS and AIK till exempel. MFF kan jag leva med :)
