Den norska fantasyförfattaren Tone Almhjell skriver på Instagram om det nya förlaget Fantastisk, som hon är med och startar.
”So, here it is: we're starting a Norwegian fantasy imprint at Bonnier Norway! The fellowship consists of star editor Tonje Tornes, Norway's fantasy queen, Siri Pettersen and me, together with our dúnedain, Andre Nilsen from Bastion. The name? Well, of course: Fantastisk forlag!
We want to create a home for fantasy in the Norwegian language. A proper dream house with room for everything that fantasy has to offer. Norwegian and international authors, new titles and classics, award winners and fan favorites. The books fantasy lovers want to read.
Such a home has not existed in Norway, where new fantasy stories for adults have been shuffled off to the young readers departments. Perhaps with the underlying assumption that grown-ups don't read fantasy?
Well, we do. People have always told each other these kinds of stories, fairy tales, myths, legends. Fantasy is just the youngest sister born of our need to imbue the world with the hopeful truth of fantastical stories. We need these books more than ever.”
