(switching to English as this is faster/easier for me to write -- feel free to reply in Swedish)
I have a page on itch.io and have had it for a number of years. I created it to reach a larger audience for some of the games I created, in particular Mars Crisis which is interaktive fiction, i.e. a story game you play online in a browser. I have not been super active on itch though: I have my own website and blog, so this is where I write about the games I create and release. I do get the occasional browser play or download on itch though.
I'm thinking to revisit itch.io as a polished outlet for my best/completed games and to make them stand out from the crowd of half baked games that are abundant there.
If you have a page on itch, I'd be happy to learn from your experience. What works well, what doesn't. Have you succeeded building an audience or is it like mine mostly another archive for completed projects? Have you monetised your games and how did that work?
Self promotion is allowed: Please link and pitch what you have shared there.
My page is https://frederik-jensen.itch.io/ where I have shared Clemency, The City, and Mars Crisis. Mars Crisis has had 231 browser plays the last 365 days. I set up PWYW last week, previously everything I have shared there have been free (and I also share these games for free on my website).
