A group of partisans is secretly restarting the reactor on Ångstaverket to produce enough radioactive material to detonate a dirt bomb in the cellar of Sigurd Röd’s palace. Can they be ready in time for the celebrations of Victory Day and get the entire rank of top officers?
Occupiers capture a...
Thanks, I get a little Fiasco style vibes from what you write.
I’d say aim for 1-2 hours and make it super easy to get the game to the table. Rule number one for comedy is to not outstay your welcome. A game like this could be a great last minute choice if one player is missing.
Limit the...
I am not familiar with DISC, JOHARI, & NÖHRA (lucky for me?) -- I can imagine how cringe-worthy they are (I have experienced other personality profiling tools/models). Great fuel to model characters over. Consider to make them obviously absurd, like one person getting a score/profile that is...
My own Rollespilsweekend i Tranås from 2023 plays hard on players being familiar with both playing RPGs with a group of friends and with the classic CoC investigation scenario.
The mechanic I added here is for the two genres to reinforce each other: When players pursue investigation of the...
Reaktiv by Peter Brodersen from 2004 takes a scripted/linear approach with fixed scenes and characters. This means that players can focus on acting out scenes without worrying about story arc or if the other characters/players are ok with them playing hard on a contentious issue.
It has a GM...
Your post above focus mechanics. I'd like to hear how you think about these other aspects of the game:
Is it a series of sketches/funny situations or is there a narrative curve?
Do all/some players play for laughs or do all/some play straight?
Is it funny because the players are funny, the...
Grymt!
Eller som Onkel Danny kunne have udtrykt det: der kom liv i asfalt-oasen og det blev efterfulgt af tømmermænd, tinnitus og nye tatoveringer på sjælen.
Playtesters: it can be a lot of work to find external playtesters and even more to get any useful feedback from them. So the easy choice is simply to don’t. Run the game with a couple of groups yourself. Get someone to read and comment based on the text only. Release it and move on to your next...
I bought Fria Ligans Svavelvinter back when it was published as I was excited to see how Skuggspelet was done and because the book was gorgeous. From memory:
I played the intro scenario (in Danish at Viking Con). I don't think I or the players had enough knowledge of the setting to really "get"...
Take a look at Codepad (https://helloworldsweden.github.io/Codepad-Space_Cleaner/). It's an online editor/compiler/game engine using Lua scripts against a Defold game engine underneath. It very quickly gives you a taste of what it means to create a game and tweak it to your own taste.
Check out the boardgame Robinson Crusoe -- it has modelled a lot of that territory -- and generates some sort of survival stories.

I don't know why, but personally I find survival stories boring. YMMV...
I had fun designing a fast paced two player game where you play a duel from the sagas.
Advanced rock paper scissors from a shared deck of 20 cards.

Depends. If the quest giver names a specific monetary reward, then it invites for negotiation. Which can be fine. The negotiation can both be used to portray characters and get a hint if there is something fishy behind the offer. But players will need a reference as well for the negotiation...
