Yeah dont get me wrong, sometimes it didnt work that smoothly but the intent was clearly there :)
Obviously the trick is to tie it all together and become a Vampire first so you have unlimited time to increase your skill so you can make your lightning sword.
One thing that always occurs to me when I am reading through the Expert rulebooks is how much of a tool box it really is (despite a pretty modest page count really).
A few examples that stand out:
The character creation openly talks about things like social standing and age categories for...
There has never been any real restrictions on what you can play in DoD. So my question is:
What races were the most common in your group?
What were unusual picks but someone did play one?
What was off limits?
What is the weirdest thing anyone has played or the weirdest group combination?
There is also the risk, I'd imagine that in English there are quite a few other "dark fantasy" games to complete with. Its sometimes better to be a big fish in a small pond than the other way around. Especially given that you are basically doubling the work load.

Ditto for freelancer income, is that just reported on your taxes or do you have to be registered somewhere?
I was trying to look online but not...
In most wargames, you roll versus something (armour/toughness/whatever) and you are either a casualty or you are not. Vestmark and Blue Rose had a similar idea with damage saves. You can make them binary or with degrees of failure.
When we played Vestmark, pretty much anyone that got hit...
